NAPIT

Every gas engineer working under the Same Day Certificates brand is registered with the Gas Safe Register — the only legally recognised gas safety authority in Great Britain, the Isle of Man and Guernsey. Our company is registered, and each individual engineer holds their own Gas Safe licence card.

What Our Engineers Are Qualified to Work On

Our team of Gas Safe registered engineers are qualified to work on a wide range of gas appliances and systems, including:

Natural gas boilers — combination, conventional and system boilers of all major brands

Gas central heating systems — radiators, underfloor heating, controls and zone valves

Gas hobs and ovens — domestic and commercial gas cooking appliances

Gas fires and back boilers — open-flued and balanced-flue gas fires

Gas meters and pipework — meter installation, pressure testing and pipework inspections

Gas safety certificates (CP12) — annual inspections for and homeowners

Boiler installation and replacement — all major brands including Baxi, Alpha and Vaillant

Carrying Identification

All our engineers carry their individual Gas Safe ID card and are required to present it before beginning any gas work. The ID card includes the engineer's name, photograph, Gas Safe licence number, and a list of appliance categories they are qualified to work on. Tenants and property owners have the right — and are encouraged — to check the engineer's ID card before allowing access.

Insurance and Reliability

Every Same Day Certificates gas engineer is covered by £2 million public liability insurance on every visit. This protects both you and your tenants in the unlikely event of accidental damage occurring during an inspection or service visit. Our engineers are also DBS-checked for your peace of mind when allowing access to occupied properties.

Our Gas Safe Registered Engineers

What Does Gas Safe Registration Mean?

Gas Safe Register replaced CORGI as the UK's official gas registration body on 1st April 2009. It is a legal requirement under the Gas Safety (Installation and Use) Regulations 1998 for anyone who carries out gas work — including installing, servicing, repairing or testing gas appliances — to be registered with Gas Safe Register. Only registered engineers can legally issue a Gas Safety Certificate (CP12).

Registration is not a one-off qualification. Every Gas Safe engineer undergoes annual reassessment of their competence and must hold current ACS (Approved Competency Scheme) qualifications for the specific categories of gas work they carry out. Engineers who fail reassessment are removed from the register.

Gas Safe Engineer ID Card — What to Look For

Every Gas Safe registered engineer carries a photo ID card. You should always ask to see this before allowing any gas work. The card shows: name, photograph, unique licence number (verify online), expiry date, and gas appliance categories authorised.

Always check the card. Rogue gas engineers operate in London. Never allow anyone to work on your gas installation without a valid Gas Safe ID card. Hiring an unregistered engineer invalidates your insurance, is a criminal offence, and could put tenants at serious risk.
